Supporting approximately 375 employees at 25 locations throughout Iowa at all levels, including executive leadership.  Responsibilities include planning, organizing, developing, and administering activities of the Human Resources department including the development of goals, objectives and systems.

  • Leadership - Maintained a role on the Administrative Management team starting in 2006 then on the Senior Management team from 2012 to 2015 at which time the company restructured. Involved in developing strategies for the company, collaborated to improve work flows, employee engagement, and provided advise.
  • Recruitment -Conducted recruiting activities by identifying skills and developed hiring plans to meet organizational needs. Developed internal electronic system for applicant tracking. Worked with HR team and management on establishing consistent hiring practices.
  • Orientation - Developed and facilitated monthly general orientation program for all new employees.  Collaborated with managers to develop detailed orientation for employees to their clinic/departments.
  • Compensation - Developed and implemented a compensation model for internal equity.  Completed market research annually to be competitive in effort to recruit and retain desired talent.
  • Benefits - Collaborated with executive management on the annual evaluation of benefit programs, responsible for the implementation, maintenance, analytics and education of company benefit programs.
  • Employee Engagement - Created employee survey system using Survey Monkey, created complex excel file to analyze data and report summary information starting in 2006.  Survey completed six times through 2015.  Collaborated with management leading to improved engagement, processes, and additional benefit programs.
  • Performance - Designed the employee performance evaluation process and merit program. Coached management on effective performance management techniques.  
  • Policy and Procedure - Worked with senior-level management to create fair and consistent HR policies and procedures. Developed SharePoint website to transition from paper to electronic policy manuals.
  • Surveys - Participated in annual industry surveys.  Creation of internal surveys using Survey Monkey and ProProfs for employee compliance tracking, satisfaction, onboarding, and departures.
  • Training & Development - Conducted needs assessment, developing training curriculum and providing training to management staff on various HR topics including FMLA, Performance, Dealing with Conflict, Harassment, Retention, and Recruiting.
  • Analytics and Reporting - Developed reports to analyze turnover, retention, overtime, monthly salary/benefit comparison, wages, budgets, and patient satisfaction as it relates to employees.  Developed new systems to evaluate 401k compliance.  Recommended new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Auditing - Prepared and analyzed monthly and annual employee salary and benefit reconciliation for financial audit and annual 401k plan audit.  Auditing of internal human resources processes.
  • Payroll - Continuous development of the payroll process since 1998.  Responsible for bi-weekly payroll processing, time and attendance systems, internal HRIS system and record keeping.  Multi-state tax establishment and processing. Processed all salary changes stemming from merit increases, promotions, bonuses and pay adjustments.
  • Internal Investigations - Conducted employee investigations including theft, harassment, conflict, and performance while maintaining a neutral position.  Advised top management on appropriate employee corrective actions based on facts, legal practices and policy violations.
  • Compliance - Reviewed federal and state laws to confirm and enforce company compliance.  Developed process for maintaining Joint Commission Accreditation standards in HR.
  • Information Technology - Developed complex Microsoft Access database used as an internal HRIS.  Creation of other databases to track and report on patient visits, recruiting, and continuing education.
  • Committee Membership - Involvement in HR Committee, Safety Committee, 401k Advisory Committee, Event Committee.
