While working for NBC, our top priority was giving customers that "wow" experience from the moment they enter our store. As a front of house worker, I was to greet customers enthusiastically within the first 3 seconds they came through the door, ask if they had ever been in before, and based on their answer I would either proceed to give them a quick tour and briefing of our bakery and cakes or ask what occasion brings them to us today before doing my utmost to provide them with the perfect cake and/or retail for their needs, always taking opportunities to up-sell.
In the back of house, as a crafter, my duties were to answer phones, make and restock decorations, put together balloon bouquets, keep the crafting area tidy and sanitized, decorate and wrap cakes, perform courtesy calls for pick-ups, and ensure no one's order goes unmade. Some days I would decorate and wrap as many as 20 cakes, not including walk-in orders.
