Literacy Resource Teacher
  • The requirements for this position were to implement rigorous curriculum scaffold for the English Learners by assessment for the classroom teacher.
  • The Literacy Resource Teacher utilizes meaningful multiple assessments to determine where students excel, and where to focus instruction on skills which were not mastered.
  • The Literacy Resource Teacher plans lessons with the classroom teacher on how to improve literacy using various strategies on each student based on assessments results.
  • The Literacy Resource Teacher is responsible for gathering appropriate professional instructional materials, and also model lessons for the classroom teacher when necessary.
  • Responsibilities also include constant collaboration between the site administrator and the Literacy Department.
  • Being a Literacy Resource Teacher allowed me the opportunity to recommend textbooks and other instructional materials to help assist the classroom teacher with instruction.
  • I was able to collaborate with other Literacy Resource Teachers, Site Administrators and curriculum leaders at the Literacy Department on the progress of various case studies I was handling at the school site.
  • I also conducted Literacy based staff developments at the school site when needed.
