Only worked for one company, Texas Roadhouse, but have been loyal to that company for over five years. Worked my way up from hostess, to board runner then finally to Front of House Door Coordinator all within 6 months of working for the company. While working with the company, I have acquired several new skills and improved other previous skills. I am currently working towards getting my Bachelors of Science degree in Biomedical Science at University of North Florida. My objective is to become a part of the stem cell research team at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida to eliminate the need for organ donors.

I was hired at Texas Roadhouse in 2007 as a hostess. This entails greeting the guests, seating them at their table and providing them with a great first impression. After approximately three months, i was promoted to a higher host position, a board runner. This required great multi-tasking skills and patience. I learned how to handle stress very well and how to work quickly and efficiently. After being with the company for six months i was promoted to Front of House Door Coordinator. This job description includes coordinating all the large parties that come in, helping the managers visit the guests to ensure they are pleased with the service and food, and being in charge of the hostesses and bussers. From this position, I learned great leadership skills and how to earn respect from my fellow co-workers. By coordinating the large parties in an efficient, timely manner, i directly impact sales in a positive way and have helped the restaurant to continuously increase sales annually for the past five years.
I first attended Florida State College of Jacksonville where i received my Associate of Arts degree. While at that college, I was on the President's list or Dean's list every semester. Once i got accepted into the Biomedical Science program at UNF, I transferred in order to begin working towards getting my Bachelors of Science. I have been in the program for four semesters now and plan on graduating in the Spring of 2014. The program includes taking 91 credit hours that give the student a background in biology that will prepare them for practice or research in medical or veterinary sciences.
