From 1978 through 1981, I worked at Kroger Sav-On grocery chain. There I managed approximately 30 people. I trained cashiers and baggers for grocery store and managed the cash flow needed to run store. I did reporting of cash earnings to corporate office.
I started work in 1982 as a office clerk entering production data information from spinning and winding departments. In 1983 I was promoted to Office Supervisor, and was responsible for payroll for entire plant, production reporting using SAS system, managed 6 clerks and all production data entry. I also supervised 6 warehouse crewmen and maintained inventory in warehouse. I was also part of team that ran monthly close for plant, accounting for all inventory. Helped to make decisions regarding processes and procedures to improve processes and reporting. Other duties as required.
In 1988, I was promoted to Planner. I planned all lines of production based on yarn sales. I ordered all raw materials needed to produce product. I provided reporting to Plant manager regarding products needed to meet sales requirements using Lotus spreadsheets.
In 1991, I was promoted to Customer Service Representative. I worked with all national and international salesmen to take orders for yarn products. I compiled reports providing information regarding what products were needed to meet sales.
In 1995 I was hired at Murphy Farms as an Accounting Clerk and I reconciled and paid nursery, finisher and sow growers.
In 1986, I was promoted to a supervisor over four accounting clerks that paid growers, printed and distributed checks for growers. We used the Taylor system at that time.
Over the next 17 years, Murphy Farms consolidated and became a part of Murphy Brown LLC. I have continued to work as an Accounting Supervisor using several computer systems. I currently co-supervise 11 Accounting Clerks. I help to make sure we are all cross-trained and efficient in getting all grower pay, swine movements, culls, and market sales keyed for the weekly deadlines as well as monthly deadlines. I do reporting weekly for VA division as well as weekly reports that are for all divisions. I do some reports for monthend as well. Help to review and assist in making decisions regarding processes and procedures for transaction entry following accounting guidelines. Prepare and post journal entries and manage deadlines based on data requirements. Report and research data, complete audit request per management request. Setup bank assignments for growers and manage getting proper signatures for banks.
