Making people feel drawn to something greater has been my passion for the majority of my life. I am a bilingual communications professional with a wide-ranging background in journalism, marketing and public relations.
I've won state and national awards for reporting from the Illinois Woman's Press Association and the National Federation of Press Women, as well as awards for photography in daily and weekly publications from Illinois Woman's Press Association. I've coordinated fundraising events for various clients and have successfully managed my freelance business while working in education as a bilingual paraprofessional educator for school districts in Boone County and Cook County.
A decade ago at Columbia College Chicago, I was a John Fischetti Journalism Scholar, recognized for outstanding service in journalism. I've been a speaker for the National Conference on Peer Tutoring in Writing, have reported for the U.S. Forest Service's Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie, was a columnist at Voice of San Diego, a webmaster and writer for a large not-for-profit organization in Chicago and continue to look for fun projects that make a difference in my local the community.

Created content for the campaign's website and Facebook page. Provided translations for TV commercial scripts, direct mail copy and the campaign's website. Evaluated advertising programs for compatibility with public relations efforts.
Served as project director for the campaign's direct mail photoshoot. Coordinating shot locations and securing a regionally-known freelance photojournalist with a history photographing politicians. And, accompanied candidate to a variety of social functions, networking meetings, benefits and to press engagements.
