I have many years of Customer Service experience with both Commercial and Corporate flying. I am a high energy and conscientious Flight Attendant possessing in-depth knowledge of FAA rules and regulations. I am able to prioritize passenger comfort, safety and security at all times.
As a flight attendant at my first airline, Great Lakes Aviation (1996-1997), I held the lead position in my base which meant I created the schedules for the flight attendants in our base. With Continental Express (1997-1999), I was a flight attendant and also taught Initial Training and CRM (Crew Resource Management) to line flight attendants. When I flew with Landry's Restaurant for Mr. Fertitta (2000-2001) I was his only flight attendant on a Challenger 601. Pre-flight preparation included: acquiring information about the flight, my guests' likes and dislikes and shopping accordingly, and coordinating with airport vendors regarding catering logistics. I instructed passengers on all safety and emergency procedures and protected passengers confidences. I generally carried Mr. Fertitta's teams or Mr. Fertitta and his family. At times, I took care of his children on our stays. I was also responsible for cleaning and stocking the plane. I stayed current in Corporate flying by attending Simuflite in Dallas, TX.
I have received numerous letters praising my customer service and quick thinking in a crisis. I can't imagine my career being in a field other than aviation.
At Southwest, I generally fly in the "A" position. Above normal flight attendant duties the "A" position flight attendant is responsible for most announcements, paperwork, caring for unaccompanied minors and ensuring the cabin is secure for each flight. Each position carries different responsibilities. We are there for the care and safety of our guests. We fly 737-700's and 737-800's. Southwest began flying International flights July 2014.
My second year at Southwest I held an Inflight Supervisor position. I decided after a year that I would prefer to be back on the line flying as a flight attendant.
Once a year we attend Recurrent Training which includes, but is not limited to, overwater training, International, Safety and Security and First Aid.
I attended a 6 month training and became State certified in Massage Therapy. I rented a room to practice and I also traveled to clients home with my table if they needed. I was proficient in deep tissue and pregnancy massage.
