Under the remote guidance of a regional manager, I was responsible for fitting, sizing, and educating patients on the proper use of durable medical equipment.
Items such as walking boots, crutches, and functional knee braces were dispensed to patients with proper instructions and education.
Paperwork was completed and sent off to insurance companies on behalf of the patient.
I also worked as a patient advocate to help ease along the process of insurance billing if any problems arose.
Adjusting inventory counts and making sure the correct number of products were on hand was another large part of the job.

Under the direct supervision of a certified athletic trainer, I was responsible for providing first aid and acute injury care for injured athletes across a broad range of sporting events.
In some cases, educating athletes on how to properly rehab and treat their injuries on their own was necessary.
Events included but were not limited to the NFL Pro Bowl, USA Football, Disney Soccer, and the Florida Cup.
Other responsibilities included proper administrative work such as injury reports, SOAP notes, and tracking the number of athletes that were administered care.

Under the direct supervision of the NIU football athletic training staff, I was responsible in helping provide acute injury care, therapeutic treatment and rehabilitation, and preventive injury measures to over 100 football student-athletes playing on a NCAA Division 1 FBS team.
This clinical rotation started with spring football and ended after the regular season concluded.

Under the supervision of a full-time DME Sales Rep, who was also a certified athletic trainer, I was responsible for fitting and educating patients on the durable medical equipment prescribed to them by a physician.
Other job duties included making sure that insurance for the durable medical equipment was billed properly, ICD codes were properly documented, and broken or damaged equipment was returned to the manufacturer for review.
Athletic Training Student, 02/2015 to 12/2015Naperville North High School － Naperville, IL
Under the supervision of a certified athletic trainer, I was responsible for providing coverage for multiple practices at a time, as well as game coverage.
Other duties included initial injury evaluations, injury reports, concussion screenings, and taping/wound care.
Naperville North is an 8A football school with hundreds of student athletes participating in IHSA sports.
This rotation was critical in teaching me how to work with student athletes who are still minors and cannot always make important medical decisions for themselves.
