  • Responsible for referrals and coordinating the writing and implementation of IEPs at assigned schools where there are no Special Education Teachers.

  • Monitor pupil progress and recommend instructional and programmatic changes as necessary to improve student achievement.
  • Conduct child-find activities at assigned school sites.
  • Liaison with school to coordinate interagency services as appropriate through the IEP.
  • Provide training in special education forms and procedures such as the referral process, behavior programs, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with the Site Administrator in developing/implementing the special education program at sites without a certified special education teacher.
  • Adhere to the ethical standards of the profession and seek to develop professionally.
  • Participate in the development of LKSD special education policies and procedures.
  • Assist families in understanding their child's rights under IDEA.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Provide training to schools and communities on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, liaison between LKSD and FAS Diagnostic Team, provide Non Violent Crisis Intervention Training to sites.
