Who I am as a person has developed over the years and what I want to do has changed multiple times. One thing is for certain, I have always had a passion for caring for others needs and working alongside people who challenge me to be better. I'm someone who is determined to get the job done and who wants to improve in every aspect. As a babysitter, I am able to fulfill my love for children, especially with it being my five-year old cousin. I babysit my cousin from time-to-time who is diagnosed with down syndrome. He requires a bit more of extra care and attention because of his special extra chromosome. Over the years, my aunt and uncle have been slowly teaching him sign language due to the fact we are not fully certain if he will be able communicate verbally. My favorite part of babysitting him over the past few months is seeing the progress he's been doing academically, verbally, when signing, and the way he interacts with others. He has overcome many obstacles that people said he wouldn't be able to. That's why I look forward to being a nurse, to see the patients I treated progress.
Being a receptionist and crew team member helped me achieve reliability, act of being discipline, communication skills, active listening skill's, and allowed me to interact with customers one-on-one. While working in both places, I came across many people who all acted differently, most were cooperative and treated the employee's with respect. Some were the opposite and were very difficult to deal with. I learned how to handle the good and the bad situations and how to deal with the people involved. In the end, I learned something new or improved my skills in all of these experiences.
