I see myself as a teacher who advocates for students. I consistently strive to create the best learning environment possible. I teach students with varying levels of ability within the same class, and am able to effectively accommodate every child. Students have different needs and good teachers are sensitive to that idea in order to effectively motivate each student to want to be successful.
Instruct through lectures, discussions and demonstrations in FACS. Conduct small group and individual classroom activities with students based on differentiated learning needs. In Allegany County, the students actually use a sewing machine and ovens to complete individual as well as group projects.
Was a highly effective math teacher. Was given the responsibility of instructing the highest level class as well as the special education class. I enjoyed and excelled at both. Instructed students using a variety of methods trying to incorporate all learning styles.
Was responsible for co-teaching collaboratively for the first year with Reading, English, and Math teachers. (6th-8th grades) However, after the initial year, my school decided to pull smaller groups of children out of the general classroom to effectively meet student needs. I taught groups of 7-12 students in the fields of Reading, English,and Math. Wrote and implemented IEP s. Documented student growth within the IEP process. Tested accommodated students daily as well as during state assessments.
Taking online classes to complete my masters degree in Education.
Attended the institution to study in the education field. I graduated with an Elementary Education degree, with an endorsement in Special Education.
