Facility Manager with nearly 18 years of experience in building repair and maintenance. Able to operate independently with excellent organization skills and attention to detail. Considerable experience in office management and administrative essentials.
In my years at NBBJ I have been involved in all aspects of the administrative office services including archiving, shipping and receiving, telecommunication, internal and external office moves, office renovations, purchasing, and facility maintenance and repairs. I successfully managed a team of ten people have have implemented team-building strategies in both our Columbus and Seattle offices. I have also successfully reduced the staff count to two people in the Columbus office as processes were streamlined and budget cuts mandated. I have orchestrated relocations for offices in Iowa, New York, and North Carolina. I managed the maintenance and repair of the firm's fleet of company vehicles. I pioneered internal greening efforts for the Columbus office by developing a program that includes single-stream recycling for the staff, a return/reuse/donate program for all building material samples, and recycling for facility related items such as CLF bulbs, batteries, and ballasts. I successfully eliminated numerous depreciated assets that were no longer of use and thus eliminated four off-site storage facilities, saving the firm thousands in unnecessary rent, insurance, and taxes. I have been an integral part of our office event and morale committee and chaired that committee for several years. This committee is responsible for planning events for the staff such as holiday parties, staff lunches, continuing education events, and impromptu moral boosters. One of my most recent accomplishments includes the development and incorporation of a firm-wide help desk system for office services and facility requests and concerns. This system works in conjunction with our IT and Accounting Help Desk system and streamlines access for the staff to all of the essential administrative functions. In addition, it affords our firm the ability to track and review staff workloads and productivity. I am currently in the process of a purchasing project that will align vendors and products used in all of our offices which will provide us greater opportunity for volume discounts and consistency throughout th firm. During my time at NBBJ I was elected by my colleagues as the recipient of the annual "People's Choice" award for consistent strong effort and positive attitude and I was the recipient of the firm's annual travel award which was given to a small group of staff that were essentially considered employee(s) of the year. My travels took me to Istanbul, Turkey for an amazing study of architecture and culture. My team was also honored by being presented with the firm's Community Service Award two separate years for our efforts both individually and collectively to serve those in need.
