I am a Marine Corps veteran currently working full time and attending college at TCC Southeast. I have extensive training in organization, logistics, and leadership in support of military operations and have been able to adapt these qualities to the civilian world with positive results. I do everything to the best of my ability and am an effective communicator who masters concepts quickly and always completes any task as efficiently as possible.
I am currently still employed at this location. My daily responsibilities include maintenance on the entire church building and property as well as ensuring everything is in pristine condition for weekly and monthly events along with some special events. I have been responsible for set up and take down for events hosting just under 5,000 people. This has included being in charge of a crew of up to 5 other employees. I have had no complaints of my performance in the 6 months and I make a point to conduct myself in a way that is beyond reproach.
This was one of two restaurants I have work experience at. This is the most recent on of the two (the other was before the military). I performed many different tasks. I was trusted to handle cash and credit transactions, train new employees, bartend, cook, handle difficult customers and diffuse tense situations, help in making a reliable schedule for all employees, and ensure that all aspects of the restaurant ran efficiently.
I held many billets in my times in the Marine Corps. These include, but are not limited to team leader and squad leader for my platoon. I received injuries from which I could not continue service and was given an honorable discharge due to medical conditions. I had up to 12 marines at a time directly under my leadership in providing tactical support and conducting operations in coordination with my unit to achieve mission success. This included leading patrols, diffusing hostile situations, maintaining and being accountable for up to ten thousand dollars or more worth of equipment per marine, evaluated terrain and recorded topographical information, directed supporting fire to suppress enemy fire and allow troops to maneuver the area, coordinated operations with artillery and air support, trained in detainee handling, and trained in basic reconnaissance operations.
I have completed my freshman year and plan to complete my sophomore year as well to receive my associates degree in criminal justice. I still require 2 to 3 semesters of schooling.
I received a basketball scholarship to this school, where I played on the Varsity and Junior Varsity level for one semester.
