Currently I work for a plumbing pipe company called Viega LLC. I am currently working there while I complete my degree and I am hoping to find a career within my desired field once I complete my degree. My current job it is very demanding, lifting heavy objects, long hours on feet as well as using testing programs on computers. I also have to do multiple tasks at once and checks every couple of hours, so this has taught me to multi task. I am also very good with computers, in my past jobs I have worked with office documents as well as people, so I am a very flexible person. I am also a very fast learning and catch on quick, I am never afraid to ask questions, I want to know the details for everything about the job.
Received Trojan Choice Award in 2005 for helping students with music lessons.
Received certifications in audio engineering as well as mixing, mastering and post production.
My name is Emily Diaz, I currently work as an extrusion operator for Viega LLC, while I enjoy my job I feel that I would like something more challenging to where I can grow both professionally and personally. I grew up in central Kansas almost all of my life. I graduated from Southeast of Saline High School in 2005 and moved to Dallas Texas to pursue an education within audio engineering. I have always been passionate about history, so during this time I was in technical school I found myself studying history topics instead of the required audio ones. This is when I decided to finally go for my dream and pursue a degree in History. I enrolled in Ashford University in 2012 to pursue a BA in history and during this time I met my husband and moved with him to Germany since he is a German national. There I continued my education but also learned about different customs as well as the language within Germany, I also worked briefly for a clothing company there called S. Oliver. In 2013 I participated in an archaeological dig in Israel, which has to be the most rewarding achievement for me thus far. While living in Germany I also got to see many countries, learn about different cultures and beliefs which only made me want to learn even more about the world and its past. I moved back home in 2014 while working on my husband's residency here in the states, he finally became legal in the summer of last year and now we are living together in Central Kansas. During the past seven years I have worked in industrial environments, they were all good jobs and rewarding in their own way. Now that my graduation date is coming up I feel that I am finally ready to branch out into a field that I have always dreamed of working in ever since I was little. These jobs have equipped me with basic knowledge such as computers, multi tasking as well as stress management and though I feel that all jobs are rewarding I think that I am finally ready for a career. My previous experience in other countries and digs has proved to me that I can not only achieve this, but has also made me believe that I can achieve anything as long as I work towards it.
Fast typer, computer skills, multi tasking, time management, basic archaeological skills.
