In April of 1996, I was in the 276 MP Company as a Military Police Officer! Prior to going to MP school I was transferred to the 104th Maintenance Company where I, being on the top of the list, was immediately promoted to the rank of SGT (E-5)! In the 104th, I was a Power Generation Repairer (52D20), Land Nav instructor, and later became the physical fitness director and the Common Task Trainer! In February of 2003 we were to be the first deployment to Iraq! We were validating at Fort Dix, NJ but were held there to modify the equipment and vehicles to up armored! My duties consisted of modifying, repairing, and inspecting all generators, compressors, and similar equipment deploying and incoming! The 104thMC, with the 547th TC deployed to Iraq under the 1101st Infantry Brigade out of Mississippi from May 2009- July 2010. We conducted convoy operations, provided security, and escorted working Iraqis on and off post! My date of rank as SFC (E-7) is May 17, 2008 and I am Platoon SG of the 3rd Platoon in the 104th Maintenance Company!
In 2005, I led a 9 man team in the installation of the fire protection system for the very highly profiled Unified Communications Center in S.E. Washington D.C.! This system is sophisticated and was designed for fire protection in a specially designed ceiling for sound filtration that require three rows each with a different type heads in each ceiling partition! I created the lay out and installed the main fire pump for the Center and also a smaller fire pump for the daycare portion of the project! This project was complete in January of 2007! During this course of this project I started my own company, Bravo Fire Protection! We subcontracted the fire sprinkler system installation for Sousa Middle School from Tompkins & WSC Joint Venture! I completed this project in August of 2007! Myself and one of my guys provided a fire sprinkler system for the FBI Training Center at Quantico Marine Corp Base and the restaurant in the center court of the Pentagon! More recent accomplishments was the installation of Home Land Security in N.W. Washington D.C. prior to deploying to Iraq (military) and the completion of the temporary embassy in Jakarta in which I trained Indonesians in total proper installation procedure of a fire suppression system! My work was completed January 5th, 2013!
Started at entry level pulling wrenches on the first day! Became a foreman after my second year! In my first two months I built and installed an express drain and trimmed out four 6 inch dry pipe valves! Left Chesapeake to work for Life Saving Systems as a foreman but they went out of business after 1 year of my employment with them (from June 1988- May 1989)! Went to Virginia Sprinkler Company from June 1989- January 1991 but was laid off due to decline in business! Joined the military on May 19th, 1991! As a 52D my duties were to assist in erecting the hospital and suppling power to it! I belonged to the 115th MASH Unit and they sent me to PLDC in June 1995.
