As a current ICE/ERO- Enforcement & Removal Assistant I am entrusted to provide administrative and clerical support to ICE Deportation Officers and Supervisory Deportation Officers in the transfer and removal of illegal aliens who are in the custody of ICE and going through immigration proceedings. Preparing a variety of legal paperwork for review is one of the many expectations that has to be correctly executed on a daily basis. Some of my daily assignments include: Assist with the management of multiple detained dockets, establishing and reviewing legal case files to determine status of proceedings, taking appropriate action to manage files, manage court return and notice to appear files, manifesting removal, bond and parole notices, along with: working in conjunction with other agencies to obtain charging documents and other legal notices to assist in the deportation of illegal aliens for removal operations and ICE attorneys. Preparing Immigration bonds, Detainee transfers, parole documents, removal packets and working in unison with immigration court officials concludes my positional expectations. This is a federal 1802 series position.
As a former CoreCivic Correctional Officer contracted by the U.S. Marshal Service and Immigration and Customs Enforcement I was entrusted to enforce order and maintain the personal well being of federal detainees and inmates in an adult correctional setting at Central Arizona Florence Correctional Complex in Florence, Arizona. I have eleven years of experience in managing inmates and detainees of different status and backgrounds. I was assigned or covered every department in my former facility and have experience, knowledge and training in meeting national standards in security, safety and sanitation when dealing with offenders in an enclosed housing environment. I was required to maintain a First aid/AED/CPR certification as well as a qualification for lethal and non-lethal weapon handling. My former duties included while on post: staying vigilant in detecting, preventing and apprehending violators of facility rules, conducting searches and seizures, preventing trafficking of narcotics and contraband into the facility, responding to electronic sensor alarms, conducting formal counts, half hourly inmate-housing welfare/security checks, interpreting irregularities and other physical evidence. While out of the facility my duties included: escorting, monitoring, restraining and searching inmates and detainees for prohibited items while on medical appointments, off-site emergencies, airlift transfers at the airports, court visits and assisting in the transfer to other facilities. My primary task was to protect the public, co-workers and visitors of the facility. When challenges occurred I was required to exercise sound judgement in the use of force, implementing emergency procedures and responses, conducting proper weapon handling, and dealing effectively with individuals and groups in a courteous and professional manner during their incarceration period. This position also required maintaining officially approved uniforms, possessing a valid drivers license to transport offenders to out of facility arrangements, passing random drug screening, background checks and applying attention to detail while preparing reports and logs that deal with the collection and protection of recorded events.
As a recreational leader I was responsible for the delivery of recreational, leisure and sports programs to promote a healthy lifestyle for children and adults. My basic duties where to monitor and maintain a constant watch of children and adults to ensure a safe and clean environment while in use of recreational facilities, Such as: The after school program for children, adult fitness center, playgrounds/parks and many other Town of Florence sponsored events. The position was a part time role I maintained through high school at the age of 16 until I turned 21 years of age.
