As an EMT-Intermediate at Albuquerque Ambulance service our full scope of practice is implemented in my position. I provide health care up to that scope, which includes hemodynamic monitoring, Intravenous therapy, Patient assessments, trauma stabilization, and medication administration as necessary. My position also entails being an emergency vehicle operator.
As a delivery driver, I was responsible for the delivery and assembly of High end furniture and appliances to both business and residential buildings.
I worked for this company while attending school, as they where very flexible with my schedule. I left this position on good terms to peruse a position in the health care industry.
As a delivery driver I was expected to load and deliver packages to the correct business or residence. I left this position on good terms to further my education.
While entering the health care field and obtaining my EMT-Intermediate license I did one hundred hours of clinical rotations. Fifty hours where done in the hospital setting and fifty done in the pre hospital setting. I really enjoyed my clinical hospital hours and ended up with a little over three hundred volunteer hours done at the University of New Mexico hospital. All of these hours were done in the Emergency Department, and this experience motivated me to seek employment in the hospital setting, and continue my education to become a nurse
