Administered first-aid treatment and life-support care to sick and/or injured persons ranging from pediatric to geriatrics in the prehospital setting. Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems. Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, and other personal care to others such as sick or injured patients, co-workers, or customers. Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources. Entering, transcribing, recording, or maintaining sensitive information in written and/or electronic form. Daily communication with different specialized physicians, registered nurses, supervisors, co-workers, dispatchers, police officers, fire department personal, patient's family members, and the generalized public. Involved in the clinical department with field training new hires, testing current EMS students, interviewing potential new employees, CPR instructor, and chart evaluations. Representing the EMS organization to the public via medical stand-bys and school presentations. Multiple out of town/state non-emergency/emergency transports. Member of the emergency medical bike team.
Monitoring and assessing patient condition during emergency transports for bed-bound patient's from home/nursing homes to doctor appointments, dialysis centers. and emergency departments for further evaluations. Monitoring and assessing patients conditions during non-emergency transports from hospital stays going home or long term rehab facilities for further treatment. Multiple out of town/state non-emergency transports.
Assisting the Paramedic during emergency/non-emergency transports to emergency departments, doctor clinics, dialysis clinics. Establishing IV therapy. Occasional airway management duties. Occasional medication administration. Occasional field training new hires. Multiple out of town/state emergency/non-emergency transports.
Observed and treated ill patients while being transported to doctor appointments, dialysis clinics, or out of town transports for further evaluations.
Training involved airway management, ETT intubation, EKG interpretation, anatomy and physiology, disease pathology, IV therapy, medication administration, BLS, ACLS, PALS, PEPP, AMLS, ILTS, critical thinking, assessments, and administering exceptional quality patient care.
