I began working at Wilson Elementary School in the fall of 2004 until the present time.
After completing my Master's Degree in School Counseling, I was asked to return to Christiana Elementary as their school counselor.
I worked at Blackman High School while completing my secondary counseling requirements. While there, I assisted students with their schedules, saw them for individual counseling as well as small group counseling, and helped with career exploration and college prep work. I also worked part time at First United Methodist Preschool during this time.
I was hired on an interim license as the split school counselor at Barfield and Rockvale Elementary while completing my elementary school counseling internship. While at Rockvale Elementary, I worked specifically with middle school students.
I worked as a third grade teacher for one year and a kindergarten teacher for two years at Christiana Elementary School. I returned to Christiana as their school counselor upon completion of graduate school in the fall of 2002.
I graduated with a 3.9 GPA from graduate school in May of 2002.
I graduated with Honors from MTSU in the spring of 1996.
I currently hold a Tennessee teaching degree, (K-8) as well as a Master's of Education degree in School Counseling, PK-12.
I have been, and continue to be, actively involved in the Murfreesboro community. During college, I served as the community service chairperson for my sorority, planning several service projects. I have volunteered for Friends of Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. I also spent five years involved in the Junior League of Murfreesboro. During this time, I served as the Public Relations chairperson for the Hollyday Marketplace. I also served as the Nominating Chair for two years, conducting many interviews for leadership positions and putting together a slate of members to present to the executive council.
I am a member of the Professional Educators of Tennessee. I also attend the SCALI, (School Counselor and Administrator Leadership Institute statewide convention), every year. I also attend other trainings every year related to school counseling.
