I am an educated, young woman, in her mid twenties looking to expand my horizons and push myself into other areas of the work force. My hobbies include writing, playing sports and photography. I have always worked with children of all ages and have found a delight in building long lasting relationships with children and their families. I have made it my goal to continue to broaden my knowledge of children and the way that they think and act and look for more ways to develop this understanding. I have traveled to Africa and worked with children in the orphanages and continue to look for new and exciting ways to make a difference in the overall well being of children.
Spanish is my primary language and I have worked on developing strength in fluency as well as written skills in college. English is my second language but I have continued to strive to perfect and build a stronger sentence fluency as well as oral skills throughout my years in school. I graduated from ESL at a young age and decided to take English as a minor alongside my major during my college career.
I have worked closely with a Local Hunger Task Force soup kitchen feeding families throughout the last 2 years. In March of 2014 I traveled to Ethiopia, Africa on a missionary trip with my church. We stayed with a host family for 1 month and helped orphanages and medical centers in the area. I continue to work closely with my church as we plan on volunteering in other places of the world. I am very enthusiastic when trying new things. I have worked and volunteered in classroom settings alongside professionals who work with children with special needs. I have also volunteered and dedicated my time to an at risk, female basketball team in the area and continue to lend a hand where I am needed or called. I am looking to expand my horizons with the enthusiasm I have to try new things.
