Started in coal mining in 1996 for Waterloo Coal as a coal truck driver. Trained and moved up to rock truck and dozer.Worked there until 2004 when work slowed due to federal restrictions on high sulphur steam coal.
Started to work for Bluestone Coal in March 2004 At mine # 39 in Keystone ,WV. My duties there was operating a rock truck, dump dozer and coal loader behind a high wall miner. In Nov. 2004 I was laid off there and was called to (Bluestone) Dynamic Energy Coal Mountain,WV. There I operated Dozers pushing in the shot, dump.building roads, drill benches, loader pads and reclaiming. Also rock trucks, water truck, grader, and coal loader at stock piles. I was laid off there Dec. 2013.
While being laid off I went to Alliance tractor trailer driving school in Wytheville,Va. and got my CDL license. For 18 months I drove for 2 companies over the road.
In June 2015 I was called back to Dynamic Energy as a dozer operator. I'm currently working there but work is really getting slow.I wish to continue in the mining industry but need more hours and would like to reduce my 1 1/2 hour drive one way.
