I have spent my life in food service, having loved the public so. I'm very good with numbers and owned my own restaurant in the 70's and early 80's in Oneonta. I moved to this area after that and spent 20 years at the Red Oak Restaurant as a waitress. I worked another food service job and then the 2010 census, which I loved. I've collected my social security since then. Now I'd like to earn more money and get out in the world.
I controlled the night shift for 20 long years at the Red Oak Restaurant. It was a challenge I loved. If it was a challenge I couldn't handle, other customers who respected me would help the situation. How I enjoyed the atmosphere!
This was a great job for meeting and getting to know residents in the area. It ranged from very angry residents to people thrilled to see the census taker. It's a pity the job was so short.
This job offered me every aspect of operating a restaurant. I opened, closed, ran register, prepped all products, prepared orders, cleaned through the day as well as at the end of day. The owner decided to close restaurant due to it being a sign of the times.
I so enjoyed this job. It was so much like the restaurant I owned in Oneonta, less the bookwork. I left for more hours and money.
This was a great course, something different I did since my Dad turned 65.
i graduated second in my class.
I attendd college for one complete year....19701971.
