In August 2012, I graduated from Drury University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology. My cumulative GPA was 3.58, and I received a departmental distinction. At Drury, I became skilled at writing research papers and at using various statistical and mathematical methods. I also became well-versed in the Microsoft Office suite of software, including Word and Excel.
Duties involve preparing food, including donuts, and keeping detailed records of food that is made and "wasted". To be successful at this job, I have learned how to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment where keeping food stocked for customers is a priority. I am also a better team player because of the nature of this job.
Duties included maintaining trails, roadsides, and other areas of the park that are accessible to the public. I learned to effectively communicate with the public through my time spent collecting camping fees and helping to answer questions from park visitors. I also became skilled at basic carpentry, operating a tractor, and working on a team. An employee for several years, I got the chance to train some of the newer employees in the basic duties of the job.
Hired as a temporary cashier, I worked at the MU Bookstore for a month to help with the influx of customers during the semester's start. Duties included checking-out customers and taking part in the facility's nightly clean-up.
Under direction from the warehouse manager I helped with painting, taking inventory, making supply runs to outlying electric cooperatives, tidying the warehouse, and building meter boxes. I worked on a team with four other people.
Communication skills were essential for success at this job as my pay depended on my ability to convince customers of the benefits of account security for their credit cards.
