Responsible for planning capital projects, developing budgets, scheduling construction and managing an office of 10 design professionals to support the 60 Buffalo Public Schools facilities encompassing over 8 million square feet that serve 34,000 students and 5,000 staff. The district is the second largest schhol districy in New York State with buildings that have an average age of over 70 years. Our office manages approximately $20 million in capital improvement projects per year working with school principals, teachers, parents and students to insure that Buffalo schools are the finest learning environments in the state.
As Associate Architect I was responsible for planning, designing and managing projects for the Buffalo City School District. I served as project manager for many of the schools renovated during the Buffalo Joint Schools Reconstruction Program, a $1.4 billion project that reconstructed 48 Buffalo Schools. Served as a liaison with the NYS Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) and worked with the NYS Education Department to program schools and maximize building aid.
