Director of Business Development Events ManagerExclusive Genetics － Houston, Texas
Consulted on the earliest stages of development through execution of the trade show channel for this national banking product, including recommending shows to attend, staff requirements, booth layout, space selection, staff training, lead collection, and overall show strategy.
Acted as staff trainer and lead generator for pilot progam (6 shows) in 2014, becoming fully trained in sales for the full channel roll-out in 2015.
This candidate will log twenty-five shows with Capital One this year, and to date has been responsible for bringing in over $2 million in new accounts, with a new-account approval rate of over 70%--both figures leading the sales team results.
Hired on a project-basis, only three weeks before NFR 2010 (National Finals Rodeo, a 10-day event that brings 100,000 attendees to Las Vegas annually) this candidate completely revamped this client's exhibit presence, comprised of two booths in separate exhibit locations.
The overhaul included creating a full show strategy, beginning with a breakdown defining leads of various levels and setting up a system to capture and record them, shopping for structures and designing the booth itself.
This candidate composed a sales funnel chart incorporating the strategy, created a lead card to capture information as well as query potential customers about buying habits in related markets, created a staff training presentation, and led an online training session for the whole booth staff, including the CEO and Sales Director.
Additional responsibilities included hiring a lead-generation model and managing staff in two separate trade show booths as well as tracking daily lead totals for the run of the show.
The intended results were achieved: EG increased the total number of collected leads by 80% over the company's most-recent and relative show, and the information on the leads collected provided a great deal of information to assist the sales team in their post-show follow-up, raising the overall ROI of the exhibit.
Additional projects, undertaken as Director of Business Development in 2011, included: working and revamping the marketing strategy for a year-long promotional contest running in conjunction with the national Professional Bull Riders (PBR) tour, securing staff and handling scheduling of staff and volunteer workers for all promotional events at all tour locations for the year, and designing a truck and trailer wrap for company vehicles.
