I took orders and sold materials, paper, envelopes, film, ink, rollers and other materials used in the printing Industry. Started in the warehouse loading and unloading trucks, cut stock to customers size request, aided them with plates, negatives printing presses sorters, staplers etc. Got very good on the installation and repair of printing presses and other equipment.
As copiers got better and better the small quick printers were slowing going out of business and the main customers were office supply houses and schools and hospitals for paper towels and other industrial paper products.
I mixed and matched paints, delivered paints to job sites, sold to walk in customers and mainly repaired equipment. Paint sprayers, pressure washers, generators ,HVLP units texture units , duel comp. units ,sold new equipment went to school and every two years recertified on all new equipment coming out.
When MAB got bought out by Sherwin Williams I did the same for them , I was even picked to open a new store in Ft. Myers Florida for them they called it Sherworks Iworked Sherwin Williams in Orlando, Daytona , and Ft. Myers . Working with contactors to reconfigure machines repair and maintain units from little Graco 2500 home owners to an 80,000 PSI pressure washer ran by a 4 stroke Des. motor.
The company closed the repair centers, they had one in every city in the state and wanted to consolidate them. Instead of moving back to Orlando I stayed in Ft. Myers and went to work for a large painting contractor.
Here the company had a fleet of trucks 240 painters and over 30 pieces of equipment. Instead of them sending it to Orlando to Sherwin Williams I told them I could repair maintain and reconfigure any and all their equipment. I was to run the warehouse order paint supplies brushes, rollers ,caulk ,tape, drop cloths etc. receive orders stock warehouse and load the trucks each morning making sure the guys had everything they may need for the job at hand.
After the trucks left in the morning would inventory warehouse order what was needed and repair and maintain their equipment. Where Sherwin Williams charged $89.00 an hour for repair they got me at my salary $13.00 to $14.00 an hour. Worked out great for everyone.
Then my father died and mother got sick. Quit working and went to Melbourne Fl. mother had breast cancer that moved to her lungs and bladder at 84 and 115 lbs could not fight it went blind and need round the clock care. She died May 4th 2016 and I am now looking for work.
