As a custom installer and fabrication employee, I installed new wrecker, carrier and heavy wrecker bodies. This job required custom wiring and electrical installation along with installation of PTO's, clutch pumps and hydraulic pumps and the plumbing. Major custom fabrication was required along with problem solving and solutions. My job required frabrication of many types of truck bodies. From a F-450, 4 door into a 49.5 feet for a light carrier to a 2012 Peterbuilt 11'8' for a 50 ton wrecker body. All with each custom stretch, came much frame modification, custom lighting options and wiring. Each job was different and required problems solving skills and new ideas of customizing thing for that particular job. Different makes and models include Ford, Dodge, Chevrolet, International, and Hino. Use of Unit Diagnostic were followed by repair on electrical and hydraulic systems.
I was also required on structural repair and regular truck maintenance.
My salary began at $13.00 per hour and was increased to $14.25 after 6 months.
Reason for leaving: Relocation and the length and expense of commute.
