Based on my educational and professional experience, I believe I am an excellent candidate for
employment at Kevry Corporation. My enthusiasm, along with professional and organizational skills, can help
guide your team to success. To this position, I bring over 10 years of experience in project coordination &
management, design, space planning, construction and installation. I have a strong background in art and
design and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Design from the Kansas City Art Institute, an accredited 4-year college
of art and design. This experience provided me with an education focusing on a core of design principles as well
as various construction and manufacturing methods.
I am currently employed as project coordinator/manager for Woodwork Solutions Inc., a commercial
architectural millwork management company. We deal with varying sized , high-end commercial projects
throughout the entire lifecycle from estimating/bidding to punch-list. Our extensive scope of work goes well
beyond casework and wood trim to include a broad range of custom millwork related materials and applications
built to AWI standards. My duties include all facets of project coordination and document processing including
shop drawing and sample submittals, ASI's, Change Orders, RFI's, RFQ's, and numerous construction documents.
We handle multiple projects at one time and my responsibilities require me to coordinate and interact with
architects, owners, general contractors, sub-contractors and our in-house production staff in order to process the
issues and logistics involved. During the shop drawing submittal process I assist in CAD redline drawing corrections
In order to supplement our in-house engineers with design decisions and value engineering. I act as purchasing
agent and issue purchase orders for goods and services both project and inter-office related. I process orders
and maintain relationships and accounts with local and out of state vendors and suppliers. I am also responsible
for budget tracking with our estimating and accounts payables department.
In addition to my Project Coordination and management skills, I have two years experience as Creative
Director for Caldera Creative, a full service commercial event and trade show display design and installation
company. We worked both locally and nationally to organize events and develop innovative interior decor and
lighting solutions based on a client's specific needs. Putting the needs of the client first and monitoring the
budgetary constraints involved collaboration and communication with several departments, outside supply
sources and contractors. Throughout each assignment I dealt directly with all project stakeholders including,
clients, vendors, sponsors and contractors. My duties included sketching concept drawings, design renderings
and space planning for various built elements, as well as lighting. While also overseeing construction and install, I
was responsible for a projects success, requiring ownership from concept to closeout.
I have also had experience on a contract basis in the art departments of the motion picture and theater
industry. This experience gave me practical skills in a large range of creative endeavors varying in size and scale
with equally diverse budgetary constraints.
Through project management, design and installation work for many disciplines, I am familiar with a wide
variety of creative problem solving, fabrication materials, treatments and aesthetics. I have also gained broad
knowledge in many computer programs. I am now proficient in AUTOCAD 2007 and my computer experience is
in both Macintosh and Windows systems with programs including Excel, Microsoft Office, as well as Adobe
Photoshop CS, and Adobe Illustrator CS. I am quick to learn any new program/application MAC or Windows
based and plan on enrolling in supplementary coursework in PM software and AUTOCAD as time permits.
By being an active participant in many facets of a projects completion, I have found it most important to
realize that all projects are a team effort with every person playing an important role throughout. I enjoy a
collaborative atmosphere and have developed excellent communication skills. I am used to tight deadlines and
budgets, hectic scheduling and instinctive decision-making in the front office or out in the field. I feel my broad
experience and background has ultimately prepared me to confidently take on any project regardless of scale or
budget. Please review my resume and feel free to contact me for a convenient time for an interview or review of
my portfolio To find a long-term career that will complement my strong background in design, fabrication & construction,
while allowing me to utilize my project coordination skills and strong attention to detail.
