Working primarily in the local church, training and experience have been applied to help small to medium sized churches reach their redemptive potential. Administrating, preaching and counseling have been primary duties in most of those situations. In every situation, compassionate pastoral skills are recognized.
Oversaw two major church building projects. Successfully merged two churches. Increased attendance during ministries Held church positions of Youth Minister, Executive Pastor, and Lead Pastor. Created and directed a support ministry for small churches called N-fusion. Currently provide fill-in preaching for local churches of various denominations. After merging Christian Church of Odessa with Grace Christian Fellowship, assumed pastoral duties as Executive Pastor, but was soon given Lead Pastor responsibilities. Operated as CEO of church of over 300. Cast vision and led church, managed staff and volunteers, regularly preached and taught, managed budget, married and buried, pastoring the flock. Especially active in small group design and implementation, ministry to senior members, and Celebrate Recovery. Led two overseas mission trips: clergy training in 2010 to Zambia, Africa; medical mission trip in 2012 to Philippines. Involved in community through Servants of the Poor board, Good Will advisory board, volunteer police chaplaincy (1999-Pres.), Lion's Club, and various inter-faith ministerial alliances. On-call hospital chaplain.
Led this new church work from infancy to maturity, preaching and teaching, administrating, managing budget and volunteers. The church doubled in size, and went from renting office space, with access to a small meeting room (set up and tore down each Sunday) to building a 7700 sq. ft. facility in a growing part of our city in 2003. Conducted a successful capital campaign, and secured financial assistance (loan and grant), as well as personally oversaw complete building project. Instigated and implemented a merger in 2005 with Grace Christian Fellowship.
Provided home-styled child care for neglected, abused and/or delinquent teenagers. Received 119 hours training, including Oklahoma Child Care unit. Counseling included individual, substance abuse, and family therapy.
Performed all ministerial functions of this church of 120 active members. Supervised the purchase and installation of computerized church membership program. Designed and implemented extensive shepherding program. Involved in marital, pre-marital and pastoral counseling. Volunteered regularly for Home Hospice chaplaincy.
Attended part time while working full-time in related fields. Returned to complete 60 hour degree after a 10 year pause, due to relocation. 3.8 cumulative GPA.
Attended fully accredited Christian College in Dallas, TX. Studied both Greek and Hebrew, as well as all of the core classes to prepare for ministry. Preached and led youth ministry P/T at area churches while attending. Graduated with 3.1 GPA, and 141 total hours. Major in Bible, with two minors.
