I attended basic training at the United States Marine Corps. Recruit Depot in San Diego California. Upon completion of basic training I went on to Marine combat training at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside California. I then attended a field radio operator's course in 29 Palms California, which I was later stationed.
I ended my military services in 2003, with the rank of Sergeant, at Tow Platoon 23rd Marines in Broussard LA.
I attended the 53rd session of the Alexandria Police Department's Regional Training Academy in February of 2003. Upon completion of my initial training, I served the City of Alexandria as a Patrolman in the Uniformed Divisions.
In 2005, in addition to working as a Patrolman, I took the role of Breacher on the Alexandria Police Department's Swat Team.
In September of 2006 I was transferred from the Uniformed Patrol Division to the Traffic Division as a motorcycle officer.
In 2011 I returned to the Uniform Patrol Division as a Corporal, which included Patrol Supervisor and Desk Sergeant.
In June of 2014 I was transferred to the Alexandria Police Department Crime Scene Division. My duties as a Crime Scene Investigator include documenting crime scenes using digital photography, locating and collecting any and all evidence, securing evidence for later use, collecting DNA and trace evidence, transporting evidence to various laboratories for scientific analysis, measuring crime scenes for accurate recreation, and processing, development, and comparison of fingerprints.
As a member of the Crime Scene Division I have participated in the investigation of major crimes such as homicides, robberies, felony batteries and fatal vehicle crashes. During my tenure of Patrol Supervisor and Crime Scene Investigator, I have processed, lifted, collected, examined and compared thousands of fingerprints, including palm prints as well.
In August 2014 I attended and completed 35 hours of Death and Homicide investigation in Gonzales, LA.
In January of 2015 I attended and completed 40 hours of Crime Scene Investigation phases one and two in Gonzales, LA.
In May of 2015 I attended and completed 40 hours of the Introduction to the Science of Friction Ridge Examination in Alchua FL.
In March 2016 I attended and completed 40 hours of Investigation and Reconstruction of Shooting Incidents in Dallas, TX.
In September 2016 I attended and completed 40 hours of Blood, Bullets and More in New Orleans, LA.
In January 2017 I attended and completed 24 hours of Digital Police Photography in Baton Rouge, LA.
In May 2018 I attended and completed 40 hours of Intermediate Level Latent Fingerprint Comparison in Irving, Texas.
