In everything I do its always about driving with technology, supporting with my technical writing and English background, and evaluating with my business/financial acumen. Working in mainframe for almost four years I experienced an older school of thought that built a foundation of best practices and technical knowledge shaping a foundation for front end development.
Bluemix maven in the era of PaaS as more and more developers demand less infrastructure muck and more flexibility to hit the ground running. I'm a cloud enabler, educating and assisting users in adapting their applications to the cloud model, exploring new technologies with Watson services and mobile first, and encouraging the growth of women in technology. Focus areas include data management in noSQL and SQL, analytics, the budding internet of things, and Watson natural language processing.
z/VM systems programmer for the Dallas Independent Software Vendor Remote Development program multi-system complex. Built, customized, and deployed second level virtual systems for Linux on z and z/VM. Acted as chief DBA for z/VM and spearheaded the overhaul of reporting and deployment processes to integrate database driven methodologies. Implemented emerging cloud technologies for mainframe through a proof of concept IBM Wave deployment that served as a test offering for developers aligning their solutions with the IBM Wave offering. Additional tasks included adhoc REXX development, portable storage media and backup management, IBM System z Personal Development Tool (zPDT) z/VM system builds, process documentation, and z/VM integration with the Master the Mainframe 2014 contest content.
Worked with professors to translate classroom material into online content for e-learning and distance education. Assisted team members in balancing graphic rich environments with necessary information to improve the quality of the NextGen classroom experience.
