This position requires that I travel to all the surrounding clinics to fill in when a vacancy or illness occurs. Responsibilities include scheduling appointments for new and returning patients; updating the patient charts as necessary, including scanning documents into the database; maintaining current and ongoing benefit information for the patient's health insurance benefits, including any authorization requirements; accept payments and document the transactions in the medical billing software program; maintain basic knowledge of CPT and ICD9 codes for medical claims insurance; answer phones and notify patients of any changes in benefits or scheduling when needed.
