I have had the opportunity to work at a pharmacy in California for the past three years. While there I was a clerk; I typed and billed prescriptions, sorted and filed paperwork, and managed most aspects of the over-the-counter products. Although I am not currently certified, I am able to quickly master new technologies and information systems. I am empathetic and intuitive during client interactions and adept at building trust and strong customer relations while protecting privacy rights. I possess excellent data entry skills and telephone etiquette, and I strive to be detail-oriented and focused on accuracy and efficiency in the workplace. I am a highly qualified student, and I am willing to begin the pharmacy tech in training program to further my own knowledge and value.
When I began working at Parkside Pharmacy it was as a clerk managing the vast amounts of paperwork both in and out of the location. I provided friendly customer service at prescription drop-off and pick-up counters. Soon I was given the additional tasks of entering new patient profiles and prescriptions into the medication input software system, communicating directly with doctors' offices via telephone, fax and email, and I also became well-versed in strictly maintaining customer and patient confidentiality. While working, I became responsible for managing the over-the-counter medication inventory, which included special ordering, maintaining proper inventory levels, rotating stock, and immediately complying with over the counter drug recalls.
I participated in the Humanitarian International Studies Program, which was an accelerated learning program geared towards prepping for college courses. I was actively involved in the cheer program as cheer captain, until my junior year when I began working at Parkside Pharmacy.
I am an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. As a member I have been involved in many different programs, including Mormon Helping Hands, which is a program designed to improve different parts of our community. I have also served in leadership positions within the Church, such as a Young Women's Laurel president and teaching classes.
