After experiencing $700K material variance write-off of inventory at first fiscal year-end, I was recruited and hired by
company to specifically fix accounting of inventory and cost of goods sold recognition and the use of the new ERP
So, I re-formulated, initiated, implemented, monitored and audited the use of a daily cycle counting of the
inventory and the process of the creation and activation of all bill of materials.
As a result, on-going daily cycle counting
achieved 97% accuracy of inventory with only $3K in average material variances recognized in accordance with
accounting, auditing and compliance standards.
Triggered company's ability to develop new business strategy by revising company's pricing and bidding structure to
allow for maximum competitiveness and flexibility; results led to additional commercial contracts and the award of the
initial government contract with $2.6M additional operating profit per year for the company.
