I am a motivated high school student with a strong background of caring for children in both home and church environments. Every summer I'm enrolled in bible camps at my church helping kids be engaged in activities and well behaved. I'm also good in the kitchen keeping a fast-paced environment with meals. I am very easy to talk to and helping out with any activities.
I worked closely with my manager, Ruth, all of the kitchen staff could only speak spanish, I was the only one who could speak both English and Spanish. I would translate the inventory, staff meetings, or private one on one meetings with my boss and a employer. I would be the one to contact my boss if the kitchen ever needed something. My job was to help stock inventory, make sure everything came in on the list, cut up onions, scallions, tomatoes, lettuce, green peppers, pickles, etc. basically vegetables and other toppings. We had like over 50 toppings for sure. By the end of the day I had to wash dishes, clean the counters, clean the edges of the containers, sweep & mop the floors, and every now and then I would help clean the frying station and change the oil. I worked mostly every day after school for five hours and did some weekend shifts. When new workers came in I'd help them learn the process and be left alone with them a day or two to get them used to the kitchen.
I learned to work both positions in the store you were either up front or cooking in the back, however if it was ever needed I would back up any of my co workers when they couldn't make it. The job at the cashier was to greet our customers, take their orders, and place them in the kitchen, then once the order was done I would take it to their table. It was important to keep the place looking clean, neat, and organized so once the customer leaves I would wipe down their table and sweep up the floor. When closing, I would bring in the chairs and tables we would place outside, sweep & mop the floors, wipe down the counters, clean the bathrooms, restock anything low for the next day to be ready, and divide up everyone's tips for the day.
During my sophomore year of summer vacation I would take care of my baby cousin who was about 6 months it was really hard for my uncle&aunt to find a babysitter, so since I wasn't in school I would be available. I am an older sister of four kids, all under the age of 8, so I have plenty of experience when it comes to handling children. Therefore they trusted me with their newborn baby. They came to drop him off at six in the morning and picked him up around four in the afternoon.
