I work well with groups and by myself. I always do my best to make everything as great as I can be and I feel it is of utmost Importance to help people first. I am not selfish and I take criticism well. I hope to learn hands-on skills that I can apply to interacting with customers and the people around me. I will develop new ideas on how to work both in a team and as an individual.
I went through an all day certification class to be able to become a referee. Now I have to balance my schedule to accept or decline any game that works for me. Then I show up to each game no later than fifteen minutes early to make sure that the field is ready and to properly check in all players.
I am responsible for the safety of all players throughout the game. I make sure there is a fun environment for players to showcase their skills and have fun. I most likely will have to deal with an unhappy coach for one of the calls that I made. In that situation I would calmly explain my reasoning before resuming the play of game.
Once the game is done, I write down the score and card worthy calls on the score sheet that needs to be signed by each coach before I send it to the West Michigan Soccer Referee Association.
During school hours of the day I drove to Paw Paw High School to do a mentorship through Mrs. Barkes to learn the ropes of Special Education.
While I was there I needed to pay attention and get to know the students on a personal level. I helped to grade papers and give my own personal experience in her PALS (Peer Assistant Leadership and Services) class.
