Certified Nurses AidBeechwood － New London, CTI had an internship at Beechwood through my nurses aid schooling and was hired at completion of my internship. My every day routine was to get my list of residents and assist them with everyday life. Including helping them with their motor functions of washing, getting dressed, encouraging proper hygiene, assisting with ambulatory skills and reporting to the licensed or registered nurse on all of my patients. One of my fondest achievements was when a patient on my roster was going to be discharged even though he was incontinent. I notified the nurse immediately that he needed more assistance with making it to the restroom on time before he was discharged and we did just that. I also assisted residents with ambulatory after they had hip surgery from a broken hip.
