During my business career as an Audit Partner at KPMG, and subsequently as the CEO of M&A Capital Ventures, CEO of Aventura Aviation Inc. and other Organizations. My concentration was primarily in Finance, Fundraising, Aviation, and Manufacturing. The AVIATION SECTOR is something which has always been very attractive to me due to its unique specialty, complexity, and profit margins.
I began learning about Aviation with my clients, as a Partner at KPMG. Most of my Aviation clients were very creative, and very customer and bottom line driven. I was directly involved in taking several Aviation Clients Public unto the NASDAQ Exchange, to provide them with Working Capital for growth. I also assisted several Aviation Clients in selling their businesses to Buyers which I identified for them. One such sale was Aviation Sales Company, I was part of the negotiating team which identified a buyer, who was one of KPMG's other clients, known as Ryder Trucks. Under the Ryder Systems, Aviation Sales grew substantially and became one of the industries most successful and profitable aviation businesses.
During my tenure with Aventura Aviation from 2003 to 2009, we acquired form Pratt and Whitney, Sixty (60) 727 aircrafts and approximately 220 engines, which we leased and sold to various customers worldwide. We also Leased a 747-300 passenger aircraft to perform the HAJJ Pilgrimage flights contract between Indonesia to Saudi Arabia. This contract turned out to be extremely profitable. Finally, we sold a 747-300 Freighter to El Al Airlines, in Israel.
Once we completed our business with Aventura Aviation in 2009, I continued my involvement with the Aviation Business by Trading, Aircrafts and Engines. Opportunities arise from my long standing contacts in Aviation. I provided the initial Equity Funds for Apollo Aviation in Miami. Apollo Aviation grew into one of the most successful Aviation Trading and Leasing companies. The business was eventually sold to the Carlyle Group in 2020.
Outside of Aviation, I have assisted many companies in various business sectors with Mezzanine financing, Equity, Mergers and Acquisitions, and IPO's. Some of these companies grew into substantial Businesses. One such example is Catalina Lighting, Inc. This company supplied Office and Home lighting and lamps to customers such as The Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, Target, Bath Bed and Beyond and Costco, Sam's Club, Bj's, and many other big box retailers. I manged and structured all the prime components for an Initial Public Offering. Catalina was listed onto the NYSE. Within a few years, Catalina's sales grew to almost a Billion Dollars.
Years later, the companies founder and CEO passed away, and the Board made the decision to sell the business. The Board appointed my firm to find a buyer for Catalina. Within a short period of time, I contacted my friends at Sun Capital Partners, to look at the company. They subsequently purchased the business.
Over the years, I have had the privilege to assist many companies with their financial and management requirements. I believe that i was able to provide them with the necessary tools and funding to enhance their business and their profits.
My business Goal has always been, "WHATEVER IT TAKES". It sounds simple, but it requires a firm commitment to providing clients with Total Dedication, Business Knowledge, Drive, and Loyalty. I love what I do and I do my bets to share my Business Experience, Knowledge and Contacts to help clients live out their dreams and aspirations. making money can at times be very stressful and difficult to accomplish. However, if you stay focused and continue to learn and share, the payback can be very inspiring and very fulfilling. That has always been MY GOAL.
