Hired as a temp/seasonal cashier, I moved my way up to a permanent position in Guest services. To expand my knowledge and earn more hours, I accepted a temporary position as a signing replacement. Eventually, I was offered a position on the sales floor, which I had accepted. Being a quick and well adapted employee, I was given the opportunity for the position as a back room stock associate.
We would have to thoroughly and accurately fulfill the inventory counts for numerous Walmart stores. We would have to travel from state to state to complete these counts. I started as a novice counter and ended as an expert counter. I had achieved two pay increases while in this position, plus more hours.
