My main job was to unload the general merchandise trailer and when we finished that I would also help out unloading the grocery trailer. After the trailers were finished being unloaded I would also put stock out onto the shelves. Some other skills I obtained in this job were using an electric jack to move pallets and using a Walkie Stacker to place products up high on the steel.
I was in charge of the screen department. I managed 3- 6 people making sure that the screens on windows and doors were getting done and correctly. I had to train each employee under me and had to make sure their machines were in running order and that they were staying on task. I was also in charge of getting the screens shipped out on time, if not I would stay late to make sure they got shipped. I was also quick on fixing our machines, if they are down less product being made, so I took it into my own hand to get them fixed right away so we would never fall behind.
In the guards there was never any time to sit, it was always an upbeat setting. Whether it was cleaning our weapons or going over procedures I always tried to take lead. I figured the more I knew the better I would be at my job. My unit included only two of us. I belonged to the M.O.S (Military Occupational Specialty) unit. It was always my duty to make sure the presentations we were doing that weekend of drill were done and ready to go. I would take the lead and teach others about what we were going over. I worked closely with the higher ups so that I could learn and teach others from my mistakes.
