I enjoy working with children and would like to help children in difficult circumstances. I am curious about the world, am an avid reader, love information and have strong analytical and relational skills. I would like to help children succeed in school and encourage them to love learning. My volunteer experience includes tutoring at Barrett Elementary, Restoration Academy and with STAIR (a reading tutoring program). I served on the Board of my children's school for 8 years and have been involved at my church in various capacities. Recently I have been involved with two low-income families, mainly helping with transportation and medical needs.
Worked with students at Georgia Tech. I was part of a team that planned and held large and small group meetings, and outreach and social events.
Answered the phone, scheduled appointments and typed for a group of 11 clinical psychologists.
Helped run a course for first year medical students and ran the office of a Professor in the Medical School.
I wanted to stay home while my children were little and in school and I am grateful that was possible.
This was a two day per week program. I had broad latitude to create my own curriculum and to try new ideas with a small group of 4 year olds. I decided to quit when my mother moved in with us due to terminal breast cancer.
