Tested manholesfor poisonus gases, provided fresh air into manholes with blowers. Installed new safety tape in ground above any new cable installation, installed fiber optic and copper cables using a series of cable pullies and high tention tape. Located existing damaged cables using a cable locater and an open fault indicater, megger or ohm meter, Used a backhoe and shovel to excavate and repair with cable cutters, strippers, and grounded metal sheath with a ground wire from one side of the cable to the other to prevent electrolisis before resplicing. Spiced in multi pair copper cables using an Amp gun or a 710 crimper. Fusion spliced multi pair fiber optic cables and tested light with an OTDR to ensure best quality of fiber and hot melts.
