I was the finicial manager for the school. I emailed out monthly statements for parents so that they were able to see tuition bills. I paid our school's bills, deposited monies and kept the students account information up to date. I worked in our school's computer system RenWeb as well as Quickbooks.
I was the school's administrative assistant and performed all duties required on the job. I organized the school's calendar, events reservations with the church, answered phone calls and maintained the students' attendance. I was in constant contact with my administration, our teachers, parents, and other church staff.
I was the Art teacher, that includes grades 3-8. I taught 4 different Art classes 3rd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade and middle school, which was a combined class of 6th-8th graders. I was responsible for creating 4 different lessons to engage the students and educate them about Art education. With the title of Art teacher I was required to put together a yearbook for Woodway Christian School. The yearbook class was for the 6th-8th graders and we worked on a computer program to assemble the yearbook.
I also taught PreK 4 and was required to teach the students the state standards required for advancing to kindergarten. I taught them numbers, colors, letters, shapes, sounds and how to interact within a classroom setting. I accompanied the children on several field trips trough out the school year.
I think one the most rewarding responsibilities I had was building a library for Woodway Christian School. The school had never had a formal library with a check in and out system. Myself and another teacher loaded over 11,000 books in a computer system and organized the books in a manner we felt was most effective for our school. It was great to see children get excited about reading. I read to certain classes, checked in books, checked out books, entered new books and helped maintain the current status of the books in our library.
Classroom Instruction:I taught agriculture classes including animal science, horticulture, equine science, AG 101 & 102. I prepared and evaluated teaching schedule, curriculum, and teaching calendars. I conducted field trips, both in and out of district that pertained to my subject material. I secured materials for resale to students (e.g. welding metal, wood, etc.). I also prepared teaching plans, demonstration plans, and teaching materials for all classes
Supervised Agricultural Experience Program (SAE): I visited students' SAE projects once per semester and at least once during the summer, or a minimum of 180 visits per year. I assisted students in keeping SAE records and assisted students in exhibiting livestock, crops and agricultural mechanics projects at fairs and shows.
FFA: I served as advisor for the FFA chapter and assisted students in coordinating FFA activities at the local, area, district, state and national levels. I prepared and trained FFA and agriculture contest teams and entries. I assisted students in preparing applications for proficiency awards, state and American Degrees, etc. and I assisted students in conducting a public relations program for the local FFA chapter and agriculture department.
