Quality Control: Statistical Analysis, Alarm Management Used statistical process control techniques, to analyze alarms in natural gas pipelines for low pressure distribution systems made up of mains and service lines.
Continuously monitored the pressure in the distribution pipeline, and developed control charts for the observations in Minitab.
Analyzed the occurrence and rate of alarms, determine the presence of possible false alarms to improve the existing alarm management system.
Project Management: Data Analysis, Cost Estimating, & Scheduling Led a team of eight to construct a power boat used for marine research with description of various stages such as project selection, organizational structure, bill of material, project planning, budgeting, scheduling, project crashing and resource levelling.
Prepared construction schedule, network diagram and crashing using Microsoft Project Professional especially to model Gantt chart to display activity against time.
Used Excel for project selection constraint, calculation of bill of material, budgeting of direct and indirect costs and also resource levelling.
Process Simulation: STARBUCKS Project, SIMIO Modeled the system of the Starbucks's store in Simio software to determine the average wait time of the customer and utilization of resources during the peak hours.
Created a process improved model to reduce average wait time and maximize utilization of resources.
Entrepreneurship for Engineers: Created a business plan for an innovative start-up company, comprised of mission, vision, marketing strategy, financial plan, SWOT analysis, sustainability and sales strategy.
Coordinated with business analyst and Subject Matter Expert's (SME) to map Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and developed a complete product book of records.
Identified functional challenges to maintain record in multiproduct, multiuser environment and addressed them by organizing Joint Application Discussion (JAD) sessions with client.
Updated the User Specification Document (USD) with new requirements and verified the requirements by documenting test plans, test scripts and test execution logs.
May 2010Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited
Implemented DMAIC construct and reduced the stress corrosion cracking defect of tube and shell type heat exchangers.
Identified causes of corrosion cracking of tubes to understand critical needs and established goal statement.
Performed Measurement System Analysis (MSA) for check the integrity in data values and used Cause and Effect diagram to narrow down tensile stress as the root cause in Carbon Steel.
Identified hot rolled carbon steel to improve yield strength and experimentally verified it as the best solution.
Monitored the quality of the new production process through Control Charts and standardized the production process.
VAAS (Leading valves manufacturing company) Process Internship.
May 2010 to June 2010
Implemented PDCA cycle by designing knife gate valve which reduces the regulating flow.
Performed Quality Function Deployment (QFD) by providing bi-directional and uni-directional valves as per customer request which improve by low friction loss on the gate valve.
