I started as traffic control supervisor, I was responsible for 20 traffic control employees . I was responsible for setting up, maintaining and tearing down traffic control devices for an active construction site. I worked on many projects including a three year project on I-5. In 1995, I started working on the grade crew. I quickly learned how to read grade stakes, set hubs, build drainage . I worked from sub-grade to finish product. I learned the difference in native soil , aggregate and material density. In 2007, I began working on the asphalt paving crew, as the breakdown roller operator. I led a crew of rollers on all highway projects, and a crew of three on a daily basis. We worked very closely with quality control including WSDOT and Snohomish County.
