I'm an experienced bartender with several years of experience within a restaurant setting, so I have a various arsenal of skills as a server, bartender, and general customer service provider. I've developed a solid group of regulars during my time at these restaurants, and feel that I would be able to bring sales and customers to this new location. I'm also genuinely interested in mixology and am looking for an opportunity to learn more about the art of craft cocktails. I work best in a high volume setting and genuinely love the ever growing nightlife in this town. I would love to be a part of a community dedicated to providing Ocala with a fun new experience.
I've been a full time bartender at Mojo's for several years. I work several high volume shifts during which I'm responsible for a variety of job duties. Those include but are not limited to preparing signature cocktails, maintaining secure cash drawers, developing seasonal drink specials, cleaning, stocking and maintaining my bar, and serving customers at a 20 seat rail as well as operating a full server section. During those shifts, I'm also responsible for prepping mixers, cutting fruit, running food, bussing tables, and training prospective bartenders and servers. I also have experience working with inventory and ordering procedures.
During my time at Mojo's, I did leave for a year to return to the Orlando area to finish my degree. I worked for a year at a lakeside high volume restaurant called Crabby Bill's. At this location, I was responsible for similar duties as listed for Mojo's. I also developed specialty cocktail menus, batched large volumes of cocktails weekly in refillable kegs, and assisted with inventory. This restaurant features several high traffic events on the lake and neighboring beachfront, during which I'd assist management in marketing, promotions, and logistics. I was also responsible for the artistic advertisements within the building, creating visually pleasing displays to encourage bar sales.
I started at this retail location within Disney Springs, formerly known as Downtown Disney, as a retail associate. I was soon promoted to a key holder and shift leader, with a focus on the Apparel Merchandising. During these shifts I was responsible maintaining inventory, researching new apparel styles, managing and organizing displays to encourage sales, and keeping my employees educated and aware of the products we sold as well as their individual brand selling points. I also communicated with brand representatives to keep our stock desirable and up to date with the latest styles of high profile clothing brands. I was also responsible with scheduling lunch breaks, in times and out times of 5 employees during any given shift. At the end of my shifts, I was also responsible for calculating stock ratios for the sales of the day, to provide insight to the company in reference to cross selling, brand performance, and employee incentivization. I handled up to $20k in cash sales nightly and was responsible for the bank deposits as well. I also assisted in organizing various events for the company along side Disney associates, including marathons and fitness events during which we were sponsors and active participants.
During a break in my college courses, I secured a position at a nonprofit organization called Project Hope. This organization strived to supply low income housing, educational resources, and various benefits to single mothers in poverty. My specific duties included outreach to homeless shelters, women's centers, and low income communities in order to secure women with affordable housing opportunities. I also networked with several government agencies (DCF, CPS, etc) as a representative of the organization, in order to secure the individual needs of each woman and family who entered our program. I maintained scheduling for the project members who were interested in our various courses which provided GED guidance, cooking lessons, parenting lessons, therapy etc. I also contacted donation centers as a representative of the organization in search of furniture, clothing, kitchenware, and general household supplies for the families in our housing units. I met with these families weekly to maintain a personal and comforting relationship with not only the women but also their children, in hopes of fostering a community of support, growth, and safety.
During my time at UCF, I worked full time, pursued my courses as a full time level, and also created and ran a student organization centered around Animal Outreach. I worked with college advisors to organize this group which eventually amassed to over 100 members. We met regularly and organized events that centered around local shelter volunteer opportunities, adoption events, and general pet/animal education on campus.
