Mr. & Mrs. Knudson have four children that I babysat over the course of the last 10 years. My babysitting structure was essentially weekdays from 3:30pm - 7:00pm and weekends from 9:00am - 5:00pm. My duties as their babysitter involved following the parental guidelines that Tara and Jeremy had laid out for their children. This included things like taking the children to their extra-curricular activities they were involved in as well as taking them on various outings to different locations that the children enjoyed. These included places like Discovery Park, the Washington Pavilion and Wild Water West Water park. In addition, I also was in charge of getting the children to their different extra circular activities during the school year. Piano and swimming lessons as well as soccer practice for their littlest one are just a few of the different activities.
I worked with children between the ages of two and four years old as a childcare assistant teacher. I was in charge of teaching curriculum to the children. The curriculum activities included art and coloring projects, number, letter and matching exercises. I also covered a lot of instruction involving the children manners as well as the importance of sharing with others both inside and outside of the classroom. As an assistant teacher, I was also in charge of helping instruct the children on proper health and personal habits. Additionally, I was in charge of keeping my classroom clean as well as helping clean the entire center when needed.
The main duty that I had as a summer nanny was spending time with the children and taking them to various summer activities that they wanted to do. I organized a couple activities for the three children to do throughout the summer that they really enjoyed. We spent a lot of our days at the pool and at various parks around town, as the children really loved to be outside. A huge point that I tried to help teach the children during our summer together was to encourage good behavior when we were out in a public setting. Amy and Mark are two very respectful people, so it was important to them that their children followed the same mindset, goals and values that their parents had begun to instill in their children.
The teachers at Tea Tots really worked hard at developing the children for the future. As a childcare assistant teacher, I helped promote really good behavior by using positive reinforcement techniques. I helped teach different basic education principles within our teaching standards. Quite often, I assisted the lead teacher with snack time, arts and crafts as well as helping put the children down for naps. Sometimes I acted as relief for both the head teacher and toddler teacher when they needed to take a lunch break for themselves. Additionally as a worker, I helped our head teacher organize different small groups of children while transition from indoor activities to outdoor playtime. Furthermore, I also was in charge of changing and feeding babies in our baby rooms. Something that is equally important that we did was to clean up our classroom at the end of every day. This included vacuuming the classroom and common area as well as cleaning the windows, moping the floors, loading the laundry from each classroom and bleaching the children's toys at the end of the day of sanitary purposes.
I was a 1st grade classroom mentor for a classroom at Discovery Elementary. I helped foster students commitment to lifelong learning and connecting the different course materials that helped broaden the children's learning capabilities.A big thing that I take pride in was that I was able to build a lasting relationship with the 1st graders that I helped mentor. In doing this, I was able to help assist the children with various daily activities including homework assignments, gym class as well as art and literacy projects. As their mentor, I was also able to provide positive guidance for these children, as this is extremely important at such a young age to instill this type of guidance early on in their lives.
At Roosevelt High School I was fortunate enough to tutor 9th grade students in their introductory English/Literacy course. The peer tutoring was part of an elective course that I was apart of my senior year at Roosevelt High School. I assisted the classroom teacher by filling out different session documents for record keeping during each day in the classroom. I submitted these reports to my tutoring supervisor so that she was able to evaluate the overall activities that took part in the classroom. I was able to collaborate with the teacher to determine different areas of focus and assist with helping other students that needed additional help in certain areas of their course. The classroom teacher encouraged me to also assist in the development of these high school freshman by teaching them some of the different learning skills about the subject knowledge we were covering. I helped the teacher grade papers and keep extensive track of the students grades within her grade book on a daily basis.
During this time in 2017, I was a Student Mentor for a 6th grade math class at Memorial Middle School. This is actually the exact classroom setting that I would like to teach in the future when I become a teacher. The teacher in the classroom was kind enough to let me instruct the classroom every now and again. I was in charge of helping teach the circum that included fractions, exponents, integers, graphing, square roots and the order of operations when solving math problems. As with my previous student teachingexperience, I assisted the teaching with entering grades into the grade book, helping children understand math problems they may have gotten incorrect as well as helping instill the mathematical principles they were learning within the curriculum.

I was in charge of unpacking various shipments that we got ready for the floor for display. I also got shipments ready to be sent out to other stores or clients. We organized the back stock, set up and created the different weekly floor displays designed for the store front and table tops. I was also in charge of cleaning the store before we opened it in the morning. In addition, I helped all of our sales associates with various tasks throughout the day as far as gathering different sizes and styles of clothing.
