As a Renegade Technician I have supported Anadarko in south Texas. It is my responsibility to assess and fix problems with oil and gas automation equipment. I do lots of trouble shooting comm issues, tank sensor problems, pressure transducer issues, and any number of other problems that get assigned to me. Also I do a lot of configuring for new well pads and facilities.
After Anadarko I supported Williams where I did lots of preventative maintenance like calibrating H2S, LEL, and SO2 meters. I also trouble shot capstone generators and and all other compressor station instruments.
Then after Williams I supported Encana where I am the lead of a crew to do retros to automate facility and wellhead processes. We install and program all the devices such as Coriolis meters, actuators, solenoids, pressure switches, turbine meters, pressure transducers, and Totalflows to run the devices.
I started with no oilfield experience and in under a year I worked my way up to Lead Automation-Measurement Technician within GS Electric. I started calibrating then was promoted to new install tech where I configured and calibrated RTUs and all instruments. Then as Lead Automation-Measurement Technician, I trouble shot and calibrated RTUs, automation, and electronics in the Vernal, Utah Anadarko field.
