In my 9 years in the industrial paint industry i have used a vast variety of paint lines. i have a great knowledge of conventional pot and cup gun spraying equipment along with airless and air assist equipment. included but not limited to complete tear down repair and cleaning and setup use.
In my time in the industrial paint field i have had the opportunity to paint some pretty cool projects i.e. The George Bush tribute locomotive wich is on display in the Bush library and museum.

prep sand blasted surface for primer, such as various body work with either body filler or metal work.
i had to use airless sprayers to apply various primers and high solids top coats.
i had to prep primers for top coats which involved sanding to the correct grade for the correct finish required.
testing and taking readings of viscosity and making the sure the correct wet mills were achieved to have the correct dry mills per paint and customer requirments
I was in charge of recycling used wash thinner and filling out the documents for the DNR
I created a new safety and quality protocol for the paitnshop for incoming and during process and out going equipment including every step it took to perform our job per OSHA and M1003 requirements. i was also in charge of finish work. Making sure any and all runs were fixed and any and all parts removed were correctly reinstalled and any and all graphics were applied per customer or FRA requirements.
I maintained the airless spray equipment and my own conventional spray pots.
I was in charge of movements of box cars or locomotives or any other equipment being brought in or leaving the shop.
my job duties consist of receiving heavy equipment and parts from sand blast and prepping and readying the project for paint.
My job also entails leadership and training to any new personal or field employees new to the field.
i am required to follow instructions from other divisons as to paint scheme and if parts go different directions and as to what gets painted and what doesnt. i am in charge of taking and recording blast profile readings, wet mill readings of primers, sealers, and top coats and also recording final dry mills.
I mix all my own paints per spec sheets ratios.
i have reconstructed product data sheets for ppg and for how a product should be applied and the mix ratio that should be used per each application.
