Performed store opening duties, including counting cash drawers and setting up all freshly baked goods. Helped educate customers and make a selection based on Kosher Dairy/Parve guidelines. Required to understand and apply the rules that are in place to maintain a Kosher status. Delivered baked goods to customers, businesses that resell the product, and the other storefront locations. Personally delivered large wedding cakes with the owner every weekend which required safely getting the cake to its destination, set up, and troubleshooting. Entered HCC right after High School with the intention of pursuing a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from UH. While attending HCC I was advised to obtain experience on-site as opposed to a school. In doing so I found that many potential employees were denied higher paying positions due to no actual experience despite having a degree. I chose to continue working my way up in the food service industry with my mind set on returning when a degree is needed for me to advance into corporate positions.
